This experiment has been conducted under field conditions, for the purpose of observethe behavior of seven organic insecticides used in the spraying for the control of collard aphid, Brevicoryne brassicae (L., 1767).
The following insecticides have been used with their re- spective concentration: Diazinon, vetable powder at 40%- 0,03 of the active principle; Endrex, emulsion at 20%- 0,07 of the p. a. ; E.P.N. " emuision at 45%-0,03 of the p.a. ; Malathion, emulsion at 50%-0,10 of the p.a.; Malix, emulsion at 35%- 0,07 of the p. a. ; Phosdrin, emulsion at 24%- 0,03 of the p.a.; and Rhodiatox, emulsion at 5%- 0,02 of the p.a.
The following products proved to be the best for insect con- trol as well as for the production increase: Rhodiatox, Malix, Malathion, Diazinon and Endrex, followed by Phosdrin and E.P.N.
As to the economic-efficiency factor, the following order of treatment cost has been recorded to obtain the increase of one ton
production: Rhodiatox- Cr$ 138,60; Malathion- Cr$ 194, 15; Diazinon- Cr$ 212,10; Malix- Cr$ 327,27; Endrex- Cr$ 367,52; Phosdrin- Cr$ 669, 47 and E. P, N, - Cr$ 1 325,47.
