This study was conducted in 1969 and 1970 at IPEACS, Itaguai, Rio de Janeiro with the purpose of testing the influence of planting systems on cabbage (Brassica oleracea cv. 'Capitata') yield. "Cabbage was cultivated without hills or mulch (control), in hills mulched with non decomposed organic matter and without hills but with mulch.
There was no influence of planting system on cabbage head production, Production in hills showed the highest seed yields viz. 258.3 kg per hectare.
