Resumo

This study was carried out in Viçosa and Ponte Nova, State of Minas Gerais, to evaluate the effects of treating 'Santa Rosa' soybean seeds with a slurry of fungicides and molybdenum oxide (Mo03, 13g/ha). Emergence, grain yield and nodulation were then analyzed after inoculation with 0.4% Rhizobium japonicum. The fungi Colletotrichum truncatum and Cercospora kikuchii were also detected on the seeds prior to planting.

In Viçosa, 20 days after sowing, the highest emergence rates (100% more than controls) were produced by mixtures of 0.2% Captan + 0.2% Carboxin with or without Mo03. The second- highest rates were produced by these fungicides separately. Forty days after sowing, the highest emergence rates were still produced by 0.2% Captan + 0.2% Carboxin, but there was a tendency toward equalization of all treatments. The highest yield (30.86% over controls) was produced by 0.2% Captan +0.2% Carboxin + Mo03. Treatments of Mo03 alone increased yield by 382 kg/ha. A positive correlation (r = 0.57; p< 0.05) was also observed between leaf nitrogen content and seed yield.

In Ponte Nova, the highest emergence rates (150% over controls) were produced by treatments of 0.4% Thiram or Captan. Yield and nodulation were not significantly effected by any treatment.
