Efeitos do espaçamento e da densidade de plantio sobre a variedade de soja 'UFV-1', no Triângulo Mineiro

Experiments to study the effects of row spacings and planting densities on the soybean variety ‘UFV-1’ were carried out in the 1974-75 and 1975-76 growing seasons at two sites in the Triângulo Mineiro region of the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Two trials were done at Capinópolis and two at Cachoeira Dourada, localities with diffe- rent soil types. Four spacings — 50, 60, 70, and 80 cm — combined with four planting densities — 20, 25, 30 and 35 plants/m — were studied. Final stand, plant height, height of the first pod, lodgind, seed size and yield were observed.
It was concluded that 60 - 70 cm between rows with 30 plants/m in less fertile soil and 25 plants/m in more fertile soil are the most favorable spacings.
