Seeds of Phaseolus vulgaris cv. Milionário 1732 were treated with ethyl methanesulfonate (EMS) solutions with the following concentrations: 0 (control), 0.0625, 0.125, 0.25, and 0.5% (v/v). Increased concentrations of EMS reduced percentage of germination, survival, plant height, number of seeds per pod and yield. The number of pods per plant was not reduced, but pod size decreased.
