1 — Based on the behaviour of plants which were grown by true seed resulting from natural pollination, 3 different varieties of sweet potatoes showed a segregation which appear to define their hybrid constitution.
2 — Green stem, white skin, white flesh and entire leaves are roported to be dominant to purple stem, purple skin, yellow flesh and lobate leaves respectively.
3 — On the data collected, the Author found a true monofatorial ratio for those caracteres, thesé¢ symbois beeing suggested:
VV for stem green (verde) color;
BB for white (branco) skin color;
EE for whitish (esbranquicado) flesh color;
CC for heart shaped (cordiforme) leaves.
