Estudo preliminar sobre a incidência do "secamento de ponteiros" ou "die back" em algumas variedades de cafeeiro (coffea arabica L.)

This paper deals with the susceptibility of nine varieties of coffee to the die-back.
A yield trial competition of varieties of cofiee was used in this study. The experiment was planted in February 1956, in “massapé” soil, of median fertility. Chemical and organic fertilizers were applied at the planting time. A 3 x 3 balanced square lattice design with 4 replications was used.
A general ocorrence of die-back appeared in this experiment. An arbitrary scoring system was used to determine the intensity of this ocurrence to the various varieties, on August 31, 1956.
