Tendências e projeções do arroz, no Brasil, para os anos de 1963 e 1970

Resumo

The paper presents information for government rice policy in Brazil. The author made estimates of production, acreage, yields per hectars, exportation and consumption.

The data were from secondary sources (IBGE) for the period 1943/1962. A least squares, straight line, simple regression (Y =a+bx) was used. The dependent variable Yi (i=1,2,..... 5) and independente variable X were as follows.

Y; (i = 1) production in tons Y;

(i = 2) acreage in hectars Y;

(i = 3) yields per hectars Yi

(i = 4) exports in tons Yi

(i = 5) consumption in tons X tome in years

Projections were made for the period 1963/1970. The coefficients and r2 was significant at cither the 95% on 99% level ("F" test) and the confiance interval at the 95% level.
