Uso de ração e adubo na nutrição de peixes (Tilapia rendalli) em tanques de terra

Experiments were carried out to study the nutritional value of three types of feeds (soybean meal, cotton seed meal, and opaque-2 maize) and three types of fertilizers (superphosphate, cow manure, and a mixture of the two) for the fish Tilapia rendalli. Fish were kept in 21 unlined ponds (5 x 5 x 1 m), with 40 individuals per pond. The experiment ran for a period of 100 days. The fish received daily rations in quantities equal to 5% of the initial weight of the lot of 40 in the first month, 10% in the second month and 15% for the remaining 40 days. Ponds were divided into three groups and fertilizers were applied as follows: 50 kg/ha of superphosphate, 800 kg/ha of manure and a mixture of the two. The combinations of treatments (fertilizers and feeds) gave a 3 x 3 factorial design. The three remaining ponds served as partial controls. Fish from each pond were weighed three times, and a statistical analysis was made for each weighing. Some reproduction occurred during the experiment, and the final weighing included a separate weighing of the progeny. No significant difference was found between the three types of fertilizer. Soybean meal was superior to cotton seed meal and opaque-2 maize. There was no significant difference between the latter two feeds.
