Orientação quanto ao risco e à adoção de inovações entre produtores de mandioca no Estado do Amazonas

The objective of this study was the identification and analysis of individual risk orientation, its association with other individual level variables and its influence on the acceptance of new agricultural methods and pratices. The individual level (independent) variables analyzed included age, formal education, migration, social integration, technical knowledge, use of rural credit, distance of the farm from the county seat and technical assistance received. The dependent variable, adoption of new practices and methods, was examined with special emphasis on risk orientation, as an intervening variable.
