Effects of tillage systems on saturated hydraulic conductivity were evaluated on poorly-drained Runnymede loam and well-drained Tracy sandy loam, following 7 years of experimental tillage with corn (Zea mays L.) in Northern Indiana. This study was carried out with core samples taken from plots under conventional spring plowed, chisel plowed, and coulter planted systems. Hydraulic conductivity was measured on prewetted samples of the 3-inch cores at the 0-10, 10-20, and 20-30 cm depths during a continuous 12-hour period using an adjustable system of permeameters
