This work describes the mechanism of pollination of Crotalaria zanzibarica Benth. In the absence of evidence of autocompatibility in this species, tests were carried out that resulted in conclusions different from those previously held. A comparative study of the mechanisms of reproduction showed that while C. lanceolata L. and C. mucronata Desv. were self-fertilizing species, C. zanzibarica was pollinated by insects.
