DENSIDADE DE ESTÁDIOS DE Dysmicoccus brevipes (Cockerell) (HEMIPTERA: PSEUDOCOCCIDAE) EM SEIS HOSPEDEIROS / STAGE DENSITY OF Dysmicoccus brevipes (COCKERELL) (HEMIPTERA: PESEUDOCOCCIADAE) IN SIX HOSTS

Abstract

 

This survey was carried out to study the behavior of pineapple mealybug D. brevip•es ìn different hosts under greenhouse conditions in Lavras-MG, Brazil. The pasts used were Arachis hypogaea I,., Oiza saliva L., Coffea arabizar L., CItFUS sirrensis Osbeck, Cyperu rotundus L. and Arcarias comosus (L.) Men (test). Inoculation of ten mealybug females wire made by plant and after 40 days, a reduced number of mealybugs viras observed in plants of A. hypogaea, O. salva, C. arabica and C. rotundus, ìn contrast with the great number of colonies developed in pineapple plants. Thy occurrence of this pest was not observed in citrus
