Abstract

For the treatment of certain infirmities of the domestic animals, Psycotherapy and Physiotherapy, though in some cases very effective, are applied only to a small extent mostly because these methods are scarcely divulged.

The author refers to examples of the behaviour of animals in which they show more than instinct alone.

He mentions cases of hypnotism, training and reflex action in animals that indicate the possibility of employing Psycotherapy in veterinarian therapeutics.

He then describs the most common methods used in Physiotherapy, such as thermotherapy, cryotherapy, eletrotherapy, massotherapy, kynesitherapy, training, hydrotherapy, climatotherapy and also emphasizes the importance of light in biology, the effect of actinic rays, infra-red and others.

Concluding, he refers to the necessity of greater divulging of these methods described which may cure a group of important infirmities and are also effective associated with other treatment.
