Abstract

This paper gives information about Manteigão Fosco-11 bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.), a bush type variety released for Zona da Mata, the southeast part of the State of Minas Gerais. The seed is large and buif colored. The Manteigio Fosco-11 has shown resistance to anthracnose and rust. It is not resistant to root knot nematodes and angular leaf spot fungus. It requires 80 to 90 days from planting to harvesting. This selection yields about as well as the best black bean of the same area.
