Considerações sobre um programa pan-americano de assistência à cacauicultura

Resumo

I have tried to call attention to the principal and actual problems concerning COCOA in the Occidental Hemisphere, offering at the same time suggestions to solve same in a expedite manner both economical and efficient.

As such problemas are complex and somehow contradictory, I sugest that the INTER-AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES should be the interpreting organ for all problems and possible solutions concerning COCOA, from the planting to the industrtalisation.

Knowing that the doubt and even dishelieve of farmers regarding modern methods is general, I would suggest the installation of a F.M.C. Modern Cocoa Farms, self-suificient, to turn into practice all recommendations emanating from the Inter-American Institute. — That an Extension Service be created to act as a PROPAGANDA organisation objecting to induce farmers to follow and imitate methods adapted by the F.M.C. The success of such enterprise as stated above must consequently produce between people beloning to identic occupations, in our hemisphere, better and riendlier relations socially, economical and cultural.
