The effect of soil applications of boron, molybdenum, and zinc on garlic bulb yield and preservation was studied in a soil from Patos de Minas, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
A 3x3x3 factorial field trialwas conducted using three replications and the following levels of the three micronutrient: borax 0-15-30 kg/ha; ammonium molybdate 0-250-500 g/ha; and zinc sulphate 0-10-20 kg/ha. The micronutrients were applied in the row at planting time.
The micronutrient effect on garlic bulb preservation was studied on a weight loss basis at 98 and 169 days after harvesting.
Under these experimental conditions, soil applications of boron, molybdenum and zinc did not affect garlic bulb yield and preservation.
