Resumo

Mandarin fruits (Citrus reticulata BLANCO cv. "Ponkan") were dipped in solutions of 500, 1000 and 2000 ppm ethephon for 1 minute or treated with 2 drops of a 250 ug ethephon solution at either the stem or stylar end. The 2000 ppm dip and 250 ug application at the stylar end induced the most rapid and complete fruit degreening. The other ethephon treatments were slighthy less effective. These results indicated that in this case, the amount of ethephon applied and the from of application was as important as the concentration used.
