This experiment was carried out at the Federal University of Viçosa, Viçosa, Minas Gerais, Brazil. A total of 240 male Hubbard chicks were reared from 1 to 21 days of life on 15 or 22% protein rations based on opaque-2 or normal corn and soybean meal.
