The inheritance of partial fertility restoration (PF) of male-sterile C-cytoplasm in maize was studied by comparing F2 segregations from PF hybrids with different degree of expression: PF1, with less than 5% of anthers showing pollen liberation; PF2, from 5% to 20%; PF3, above 20% and up to 70% of anthers with pollen liberation,
