Considerações sobre o diagnóstico em clinica veterinária

In this work the author deals with the evolution of the concept of diagnosis, from the earliest days until nowadays. He then discusses the nature and the mechanism of diagno- sis and he points out also that it must be complete for ful- filling the medical object: the cure of the sick.
He points the usefulness of nosological diagnosis in contagious disease prophylaxis and he presents his opinion that the clinical diagnosis is necessary when the problem of the veterinarian is limited to an individual case. Finally, he defends the thesis of the «instability of diagnosis» and he quotes a splendid sentence of Corral on this subject.
