Herbalidades correlações e índices de seleção em milho (Zea mays L.)
Palabras clave:

The design I mating system proposed by Comstock and Robinson was used in the com variety «Dent Composite B». In this way 39 plants used as males were each crossed with four different plants used as females, producing 156 progenies. Six characters were evaluated in these progenies: plant and ear height, number of ears per plot, weight of 50 grains, weight of ears per plot and weight of grains per plot. “Tests were conducted for two years in order to estimate the variances, covariances, correlations (phenotypic, genotypic and genetic), heritabilities and to establish a selection index based on desired genetic gains.
