These experiments were carried out at the Federal University of Viçosa, Viçosa, Minas Gerais, Brazil, to determine the effects of methionine and lysine levels on broiler chicks (1 to 21 days old) when fed on starter rations of a suboptimal 15% protein content and a 22% protein level ration based on opaque-2 or normal corn and soybean meal.
