The movement of nitrate and ammonium nitrogen through columns of soil materials was studied. Samples of a Dark Red Latosol from two slope positions at Capinópolis and of a Red-Yellow Latosol from Pirapora, both iocalities in Minas Gerais State, Brazil, were used.
