Comparação de modalidades de enxertia na propagação da mangueira (Mangifera indica L.)

A study was made to determine which method of grafting, applied to the mango, would produce best results. The cultivar 'Ubá' was used as scion, and some commom varieties fromthe region were employed as stock.
The following treatments were used: cleft grafting, whip-and-tongue grafting, whip grafting, veneer grafting, and sinde rind grafting.
In all treatments, polyethylene film was used as tying material, and the scion protected with a transparent polyethylene bag. Each grafting was covered with a small bamboo basket, for partial shading of the scion.
The best treatments were: the cleft grafting, the whip-and-tongue grafting, and the whip grafting. Nevertheless, the cleft grafting is recommended, due to the simplicity of the technique required.
