Resumo

This work was concerning with the influence of various sources of phosphorus on the variation of pH and the availability of phosphorus, calcium and magnesium. The Mehlich's extrator was used to extract the phosphorus, calcium and magnesium.

The sources of phosphorus used were phosphoric acid, ordinary superphosphate, fusion phosphate, bone meal, diammonium phosphate and Araxa rock phosphate.

It was concluded that the pH was increased buthe fusion phosphate only, and was decreased by the application of the ordinary superphosphate and diammonium phosphate.

The level of calcium and magnesium were altered bythe application of ordinary superphosphate, fusion phosphate and Araxá rock phosphate, but the values obtained were not correlated with the change in pH.

All of the sources altered the level of soil phosphorus; Araxa rock phosphate, causing the greatest change and bone meal the minor one.
