Correlação entre lisina e proteína no milho opaco-2

Resumo

The relationship of level of protein and lysine, respective- ly, was determined in the endosperm and germ separately for the seeds of the opaque-2 variety Maya 50. 

Each of the 48 samples were composited from five ears, 30 seeds each. Protein was computed from nitrogen content as determined by semi micro Kjeldahl. Lysine was determined colorimetrically using dinitro pyridine according to method of Tsai and Hansel.

The coefficient of correlation between percent of protein and percent of lysine in the endosperm was r= 0,609, highly significant.

The coefficients of correlation for the other three relationships were not significant, indicating independence of each other.
