This research has been developedin view of the problem concerning residues on plant parts resulting from the use of certain pesticides to control diseases and insects in economically important crops. Our main objective was to adapt routine method to a quantitative evaluation of tin, which is the active principle of numerous fungicides, in order to achieve some control in the use of such products.
The extraction method of the active principle which gave the best yield was the one using hot acetone.
The evaluation method was based on the colorimetric measurement of the yellow complex formed by the treatment of the precipitate SnlV-2-nitrofenolarsonic acid (4) with sodium tartrate and ammonium hydroxide. This was applied to several samples presenting an average percentage of recovery equal to 94. 6%
