A germination experiment was conducted with the aim of analyzing seed dormancy variability in species of Stylosanthes, as a means of estimating genetic components of variation. The study was carried out in the following Brazilian native Stylosanthes Sw. species and varieties: S. debilis, S. guianensis var. canescens, S. guianensis var. microcephala, S. hamata, S. humilis, S. viscosa, and sixteen families were analyzed within each specie or variety.
