Abstract

Adventitious roots obtained in agar, «in vitro», developed a kind of aerenchymatic tissue and did not develop root hairs. When the roots were transferred to vermiculite, intercellular spaces shrank and root hairs began to sprot in a pattern of development such as can be observed in the roots obtained from plant seeds.
